We sell pasture grazed and naturally raised artisanal chicken, pork and turkey near Bobcaygeon Ontario. On our 100 acre farm, we utilize regenerative methods of agriculture that put the health and well-being of our animals and the land as a priority. We’re committed to nourishing the local community in Kawartha Lakes, Peterborough, Durham and Toronto, with naturally raised, pastured meat. We are also a My Pick verified local farmer with Farmers’ Markets Ontario.
Three Forks Farmers believe that raising animals on pasture creates a healthier happier animal that is more nutritious and better tasting. We want to raise local food in a manor that is both affordable to the customer and provides a fair wage to the farmer. Three Forks Farm was unofficially established in the fall of 2012. We had been living in the Yukon for the past few years and made the move back to Ontario, our home province, after our little baby Ava was born. We arrived in Bobcaygeon after months of property searching and found our home on the 100 acre property that would officially become Three Forks Farm in 2015. We had our first season of growing in 2013 and raised 200 chickens, 3 pigs and 6 turkeys. We have also been tending a medium sized garden that feeds us throughout the year as well as supplies our animals with some extra foraging during the growing season. We have continued to expand slowly both on the farm as well as a family. We are now a family of four raising a growing number of Chickens, Turkeys and Pigs.
We both share a love of the outdoors and we both worked in the field of outdoor education for a number of years. When we decided to have a family, farming seemed to be a viable way to keep us active and connected to the outdoor world as well as provide our children with a childhood similar to our own. We both come from small family operations in Eastern and Southern Ontario so it may have been inevitable that we ended up as a small family farm.
Jarod continues to work away from the farm and earning the steady income that farming does not allow us at this time. Elecia spends her time at home on the farm with their two kids, managing the farm affairs and working on launching a Birth Doula business to run in the off-season.
