Welcome to Hartwood North Farm, located in Armstrong, British Columbia, owned and operated by Wendy Armstrong-Taylor and Malcolm Taylor. We left our busy city life behind in 2003 to pursue our dream, realizing that we wanted to raise our young children in a rural setting. Wendy's background in Horticulture, Landscape Architecture and Fine Arts, combined with Malcolm's fond childhood memories of growing up on a sheep farm in New Zealand were a good fit, and our farm obtained Certified Organic status in the spring of 2006. It is a 67 acre mixed operation with vegetables, fruit, cut flowers, lavender and grain. Our crops are grown in a light, sandy soil on a south facing slope, often giving our farm the advantage of an early season and a late frost. Our certified organic flowers, fruit and garlic crops are sold locally from May until October, . Our fields of cut flowers and Lavender which bloom throughout the season, cover over 1 acre and include over 50 varieties of certified organic annuals, perennials, shrubs and bulbs. We enjoy making seasonal bouquets of fresh, certified organic flowers to order, and we also sell fresh bunches to local flower shops and grocery stores. Our farm gate, open Wednesday through Saturday, now features a cooler full of fresh flower bunches, which change throughout the season. We provide a complete wedding flower service including bouquets, boutonnieres/corsages, table arrangements and accessories. Our style is unique, fresh and casual, using seasonal, certified organicflowers from our farm, or complemented with other locally grown flowers. As these occasions are unique for each bride we are also willing to bring in special flowers from the Coast, if requested. We encourage brides-to-be to visit our farm for a consultation and to see our beautiful flowers in the field.
